SECRET CONTAX: June 17, 2011 - June 16, 2012
This project inspired the [secret] DECADE. Since June 17, 2011 I have been shooting analog snapshots with a Contax T2, storing the exposed films in a safe place, and postponing processing of the film (and editing of the images) until the entire year of shooting has concluded.
By December 20, 2011 I had shot 53 rolls of film. Then the camera stopped working. It is currently with the camera shop that sold it to me, and they are trying to repair or replace it under warranty. I've decided that the fate of the camera determines the fate of the project - if I am able to continue shooting with it or a replacement T2, I will shoot until June 16, 2012 as intended.
The New York gallery opening for my monochrome street photographs is scheduled for the same day, which would make for an ideal finale to the Secret Contax project.
